Olivia says...

Get the word from Mr. A and maybe even Mr. Leone to see if he'd be interested in filming it, or doing some ads on the morning show? Talk to some teachers and see if they'd be willing to attend and supervise! The more we have prepared, the easier it will be to bring our proposal to the Administration!

Things we need for the letter:

  • - Our Goal ( Getting a positive image of GSA out to the student body while supporting our school! )
  • - Desc. of Battle of the Bands ( How do we decide the winner? On cheer? Judges? Ballot? )
  • - Prizes ( If each band has to sell 10 tickets at 5$ each and we get like... 10 bands that's 500$. From entrants alone. I know at first I said only 5 tickets, but this might be popular and we can only have so many bands. And if they can sell 10 tickets, it shows that they already have support out there! So they'll bring in a crowd. Assuming the bands have an average of four people in them, and they'll divide the money, then 200$ is a good first prize amount. That's 50$ a person and getting their name out there! )
  • - Profits go to...
  • - Explain selling the shirts
  • - Support within the school ( Teachers, helpers, etc. )
  • - Dates ( Is January good? )

Also, what if we did like... Let's say we get 10 bands. Each has 5 minutes to play, and then the top three ( based on cheer judges :D ) play for another like... 3 minutes? Like just a teaser. Cheer judges decide the winner and that's that!

PROBLEMS: We may not be able to get ten bands that can sell 10 tickets each at 5$ a person.

Olivia, I love how well thought out this is already.

If you guys decide on judges, then how about asking folks like Mr. Heatwole, Mr. Wall and Mr. Calloway... they all are or have been in bands themselves.
